I rode bikes from age 17 until my mid-30s when I traded my bike for a second car for my wife. A recent change in jobs meant a longer and more difficult commute and after trying all the alternatives, I settled on a bike and started riding again after a break of about 15 years. I bought a good used 650 Dakar with low mileage and rode it for two years. Then I traded it for an 800GS. I rode that for Five years and recently upgraded to a GS1200LC. My leisure hours are taken up with hiking, DIY, and the occasional bike ride with my wife as pillion.
